Sunday morning.
Sunday morning
and I don’t think that I can.
Sunday morning
an I don’t think I’m a man
Who is capable of loving
Being selfish isn’t hard
Always taking, never giving
Always claiming my own part
Never lonely, never worried
In the end we die alone
we are burned or we are burried
There’s no place that we call ’home’
One sunday morning, I woke up in a hotel room in Brasov, Romania with a song in my head.
I immediately setup my laptop, connected the microphones I always carry with me when abroad, took my guitar and started recording.
90% of the song as you hear it now, has been recorded in that hotel room with just my laptop, my acoustic guitar,
the built in microphone of my laptop and a couple of Behringer small condenser microphones connected to my Tascam FireOne audio interface.
The vocals have been rerecorded at home and also the drums (in the second part of the song) as well as the melodica and clarinet
were recorded in the guest bedroom of my ’home’ in Belgium.

Ever Since.
Ever since you died
been thinking about you
How hard I tried
to not become you
It’s in my genes
I just can’t help it
Just how it feels
you could’t understand it
Am I doing well?
Am I doing right?
Sleeping well at night?
Nothing left to tell
No one left to fight
Ever since you died
When you where alive
There was no time for talking
It messed me up real bad
So I started walking
I think I understand
You were but a small man
Your heart was in your head
And I don’t think I can
Be a better man
Am I doing right?
sleeping well at night?
Nothing left to tell
No one left to fight
Ever since you died
This song has appeared on a compilation cd released by homerecording.be .
It’s the first time I tried to write an actual ’song’, complete with a main melody and lyrics.
The vocals are done by Tom Verboven, a guy I know from the homerecording.be forum.
A track of his is also available on the compilation cd.
The CD is available in several record stores in Belgium and can also be oredered at homerecording.be .

Alone.
I don’t care
leave me alone
The lights are on
but no one’s home
I’m not a mess
don’t need to talk
so please get out of here
and take a walk
No I’m not sad
I’m not depressed
and I don’t want things
of my chest
So get a life
I’ve got my own
No I don’t want you here
so please
fuck off my dear and leave
me alone
Don’t take this personal,
you see
I don’t like anyone
but me
No I don’t want you here
So please
Leave me alone
my dear
Just go away don’t fear
being alone
Just like ’Sunday Morning’, this track started out as an early morning idea.
Luckily, this time I wasn’t in a hotel but at home, so I was able to start my PC and do all the work with proper gear this time.
Vocals still have to be redone (I didn’t take my time to track them in a good environment) and I'm thinking of maybe adding some clarinet
and some backing vocals.

LLL.
Lovely little livewire
You won my heart
Tore it apart
and in your youth you didn’t even know
That deep inside hurt grows
Luscious little Lolita
you’re twenty, you’re nineteen
You told me you’re
a woman now,
but I already knew somehow
when I said: ’I love you darling’,
I was telling you my truth.
You set my life on fire
and now it’s burning down
to the ground.
Were you just love for hire?
And was I just your clown?
Oh my little luscious lover
five thousand miles away
I probably am
Just another guy
Who spent some cash
and then said goodbye
But I fell for you
When we compared our scars
You set my heart on fire
and now it’s burning down
to the ground.
Were you just love for hire?
And was I just your clown?
You set my heart on fire
and now it’s burning down.
I still have to work on the mix of this song and I’m not completely pleased about the lyrics yet.

Pray.
It washes over you
Like a cold shower
There’s nothing you can do
It gets worse by the hour
Your mind is blank, your heart
is filled with emotion
It’s tearing you apart
You grab for your potion
There’s nothing you can do
There’s nothing you can say
Just have a drink
and hope it goes away
You’ve been there many times
you can feel it coming
but you can’t control your mind
’cause your brain is humming
And no one is aware
You just say you’re tired
’cause you don’t know how to share
then the gun gets fired
And there’s nothing they can do
There’s nothing they can say
Just hope for God and
pray it goes away
There’s nothing you can do
There’s nothing you can say
Just one more drink
and hope for God and pray
I’m pleased with the general feel of this song and the structure of the track is also determined.
I would like, however, to have the vocals doubled with a unisone female vocal and I’d also like to add a guitar solo at the end of the song.
Singers and guitar players who want to take on this challenge are welcome to contact me at info@tumblermusic.be

Ego.
"Don’t need any friends."
is what I tell myself.
"They just dissapoint you."
Me and my Ego.
When you let them come close,
It’s me, I suppose,
they soon learn to hate you.
Me and my Ego.
I can’t trust anyone.
One remark, and I’m done.
If they come close, I’ll be gone.
Gone,
With me and my Ego
My life is a mess.
I’d rather be dead
then dealing with people.
I do understand.
I just need a hand.
Someone to help me
with me and my Ego.
I can’t trust anyone.
One remark, and I’m done.
If they come close, I’ll be gone.
Gone,
With me and my Ego.
It's the same thing with this song.
The general feel of the song and the structure is o.k., but I'm going to have to rerecord the acoustic guitar (too much noise) and have a closer listen to the mix (especially the drums).
Still some work to do on this one. Now, if I only had the time...
Tumbler Remixes.
Tumbler - Waisting time (All4You Remix)
I made this remix for a competition on the Steinberg website. The competition was meant as advertisement for the release of Cubase 4.
dEUS - What we talk about (When we talk about love) (Tumbler Remix)
This was made for a competition on the Belgian radiostation Studio Brussel.
It’s a remix of one of the singles off dEUS’ 2006 album Pocket Revolution.
Ash - Meltdown (Tumbler Remix)
Computer Music ran a remix competition in 2006 that asked for a remix of this Ash song.
They made all tracks of this song available for download, but I only used the vocals and backingvocals.
It’s the first remix I ever did.
Needless to say, I haven’t won one prize (yet?).

Autumn Leaves
Music: Joseph Kosma
Lyrics: Johnny Mercer
Vocals: Amy
Guitar: Michel D’Ortona
Bass: Eric Opdenacker
Drums: Willy Tits
The very first time I recorded a whole band.
The track was recorded live in my livingroom. There’s a lot of bleed on the vocal microphone, so the vocals need some rerecording.
All in all not bad for the first time, I think.
